Our Mentor coordinator and 4 year member Diane Parnham, A New Horizon - Life and personal development coach was invited to a special Afternoon Tea at the Woodlands Hotel Leeds by Breast Cancer Now, the Uk’s largest breast cancer charity. This was to say thank you for raising money for the charity.
“I was delighted to receive the lovely invitation. I’ve run the Great North Run for a number of years now. In 2014 I had treatment for breast cancer, so it seemed right, the next time I ran I would raise money for this great charity.

It was an honour and a privilege to be part of a truly inspiring afternoon. The Director of Research, Simon Vincent explained how all the money raised was being used.

It was amazing to hear from the people who are responsible for making huge progress in the treatment, cure and early detection of Breast Cancer. My daughter Hannah Davison was my guest. We came away, knowing more about the research, the people who run the charity, the difference made to peoples lives compared to 15 years ago and tummies full of delicious treats."

The Kingstown Bevan BNI Chapter have supported Diane each year and through their generous donations and support Diane has been successful in raising money each year.

“I would like to say a big thank you to all the members of the Kingstown Bevan Chapter in sponsoring me each year. Your support really does make a huge difference in getting me from Newcastle city centre to the finish line in South Shields.”

This year the Great North Run is on Sunday 8th September and once again Diane will be on the start line for the worlds biggest Half Marathon. Let’s wish her luck for this years race and support her in way way we can.
